On June 5, 2020, and each subsequent full moon of 2020, join us online for meditation followed by a 24-hour mantra recitation session. June 5 offers a precious opportunity to engage in the healing practice of Sherap Chamma, Mother of Wisdom and Love. The session starts at 10 a.m. New York time on the day of the full moon and ends at 10 a.m. the following day. We will be supported by Ligmincha International’s global community of practitioners. The 24-hour session begins with a 20-minute meditation guided by Marcy Vaughn or Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche. Rinpoche and Ligmincha lamas will take opportunities to join participants throughout the 24 hours.
Unlike Rinpoche’s CyberSangha® Facebook Live broadcasts, the 24-hour full moon practices take place via Zoom, in an online meeting space. There is no cost to participate, but registration is required in advance of each 24-hour session; scroll down for full details and instructions for participating.
To stay informed of future 24-hour full moon practice sessions, subscribe to the CyberSangha Announcements email list. Please scroll down for more information.
Rinpoche guided the full moon meditation on Sherap Chamma and introduced the Full Moon Series during a February 9, 2020, Facebook Live broadcast (58 minutes). You can view the recording on Facebook to join the chat, or view on the screen above.
Scheduled Full Moon Dates
In the Tibetan tradition, many sacred rituals and practices, including the celebration of the Tibetan New Year, coincide with the phases of the moon. It is said that the beneficial effects of one’s meditation practice multiply exponentially at the time of the full moon. Eleven 24-hour practice sessions have been scheduled in 2020 to coincide with the full moon. The dates are listed below. Each session starts at 10 a.m. New York time and concludes at 10 a.m. the following day. If you are in a different time zone, to confirm the correct time conversion visit www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html—or, go to www.google.com and search for “time New York” to see what time it is now in New York (Eastern time U.S.).

About the Meditation and Mantra
In many cultures, primordial female energy is seen as the origin of existence and the source of all positive qualities. Sherap Chamma, Mother of Wisdom and Love, is the source of wisdom, and her medicine is love and compassion. The teachings of Sherap Chamma comprise an important cycle of the ancient Tibetan Bön tradition. For purposes of this full-moon series, Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche has distilled the practice of Sherap Chamma into its most essential aspect, enabling us to connect deeply with the unconditional love and wisdom of our own nature to bring immeasurable benefit to ourselves and others.
To start th full-moon session, Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche and/or his senior student Marcy Vaughn will guide us in a 20-minute practice of visualization, contemplation, and recitation of the mantra of Sherap Chamma:
OM MA WA MA DE MA HI MO HA E MA HO MA YE RU PA YE TA DU DU SO HA
As the formal practice session ends, mantra recitation will continue uninterrupted for the remainder of the 24 hours, assisted by the ongoing presence of representatives of 12 or more worldwide Ligmincha communities.
For those who enter the session after the 20-minute guided meditation is over, it’s suggested that they begin their personal practice by engaging in the meditation on their own before reciting the mantra. See “Practice Resources,” below, for the instructions and guidance needed to do the meditation and recite the mantra. It’s recommended that all participants review them in advance of the 24-hour session.

Guidelines for Participants
Advance registration is required for each 24-hour full moon session. We ask you to review the following guidelines before registering to make this gathering a supportive experience for everyone:
- To create and sustain sacred space, enter the session with respect and awareness. Turn on your camera if it doesn’t turn on automatically upon entering the room. By seeing one another we can feel each other’s presence and support. Please be mindful of what appears on your screen to avoid creating distractions. All microphones will be muted by default except those of designated practice leaders.
- You are welcome to enter the mantra recitation room beginning at any time during the 24-hour period and as often as you like. But please join for at least 30 minutes at a time. If you enter after the initial guided meditation is over, we suggest that you begin your personal practice by engaging in the meditation on your own before reciting the mantra (see “Practice Resources”).
- When you register for a given 24-hour Zoom session, you will be sent a unique link enabling you to enter that session. You must register to participate. If you know others who might like to participate, refer them to cybersangha.net so they can learn more and register.

Hi, Polly, Sorry I’ve been trying to get on the zoom today but it will not launch. Have tried restarting several times and it says I am already involved in the meeting, but it does not show on my mac. When I use the phone dial up the sound is in and out. I will meditate with you in spirit. Ellen
Hi Ellen, sorry you’ve been having difficulties entering the meeting. Have you tried clearing your cookies and cache? That might help. — Polly
Thank you, Rimpoche!
I am deeply grateful for this wisdom and practice and to share in the world at this time. There was a video of Rinpoche giving a talk and going through the pronunciation un practice materials. This was replaced by many other you tube videos. I am wondering where the one with Rinpoche went?
Rachel, are you perhaps referring to the video that is embedded near the top of this page?
