While meditating, are you spending this valuable time resting in a true meditative state? Or, are you engaging only in thinking and imagining? Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche explains the difference between conceptual thought and nonconceptual awareness, and guides a practice to help you to find and enter the doorway to direct realization.

In meditation, creative imagination, visualization, generic image, self image of the yidam are used as tools and lead to actual experience of higher, purer states of consciousness. One has to be careful that the imagination-visualization is similar to a rainbow, “clarity but vacuity”. It has a role of a placebo. Very often in leaded meditation, images, symbols, archetypes are used. It is very mysterious and interesting how a placebo (medecine, positive thinking, hypnotism, some healing meditation) can heal.

The meditation really helped with the question, Who am I?’.The voice that replied said that I was a frightened chid. I was able to work on I am not a frightened child. Thank you Tenzin.
Religiouse discrimination among Tibetan Buddist. I’ve experinced it. Becouse my 1st connection is Bon thou I continue learning from Nyingma and Kagyu I have seen practioners as well teachers froning upon my Bon connection. I let that go, and focuse on the usfulness of the teachings they pass on. Thou It always astonishes me that sudenlly there is this devison and dislike among other Tibetan Buddist traditions toward Bon.
As if the essence of the teching is sudennly lost.
After all when Buddism was introduced to Tibet it was by force and apparntly people were killed in order to establish new religion.
