In an August 16, 2020, Facebook Live conversation hosted by Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche, esteemed teachers from six spiritual traditions of Tibet discussed how any experience of life — even the most challenging moment of physical illness or mental distress — can become a path toward personal growth and spiritual enlightenment. In this follow-up broadcast Tenzin Rinpoche returns to summarize each teacher’s contribution; offer his own, further reflections; and guide a meditation practice that can bring us to a deeper understanding of how pain can become a path to freedom.

My dearest teacher Rinpoche,
Honoring your open heartness and presence in my life!
Having and using your teaching of ‘pain identity’ has helped me to stay centered and with open heart and let others ‘be’. This pandemic has been a wonderful opportunity to heal many parts of my ego and life.
thank you
Thank you for the talk on relating with obstacles. It was very grounding and encouraging as sometimes the obstacles seem to take up more than their fair share of space. “What is this obstacle trying to tell me?” is like knowing where to put the crowbar to get this heavy object to move. It’s reflective of the relationship between crisis and opportunity. 🙏
