Session 1 of an all-day live webcast recorded in two sessions at the Serenity Ridge Retreat Center with H.H. Lungtok Tenpai Nyima Rinpoche, spiritual leader of the Bön Buddhist tradition of Tibet; and Geshe Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche, founder and spiritual director of Ligmincha International. Session 2 can be viewed here
This session begins with a series of traditional prayers, including a prayer to the first abbot of Menri Monastery, the long-life prayer for His Holiness the Dalai Lama on the occasion of his birthday, and the long-life prayer for H.H. Lungtok Tenpai Nyima. At 12:40, Tenzin Rinpoche then guides a deep meditation practice of inner refuge in combination with a practice of Sherap Chamma (Mother of Wisdom and Love). Before each segment of the practice, students sing the corresponding segment of an Inner Refuge Prayer composed by Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche. His Holiness then offers a few words of advice and answers questions from the audience (40:25). The session closes with two prayers of dedication. H.H. Lungtok Tenpai Nyima Rinpoche is spiritual leader of the Bön Buddhist tradition of Tibet and abbot of Menri Monastery near Dolanji, India, one of the two primary Bön monasteries outside of Tibet.
