JOIN THE CYBERSANGHA TEAM!

We have a long-term need for volunteers who can help with one or more aspects of writing/editing/proofreading, website content entry, and social media promotions. For now we are specifically seeking someone who can answer “yes” to all four of these questions: (1) Are you a native English speaker? (2) Do you have at least 3 years of professional experience in copy editing and proofreading? (3) Do you have experience with social media communications? (4) Are you a longtime, devoted student of Rinpoche’s teachings and/or a committed member of the CyberSangha, who would love to help others discover the CyberSangha broadcasts? If yes, please let us know!

CyberSangha is in the final stages of establishing a community app using Mighty Networks. We’re seeking volunteer(s) who can be playful, open, and curious about exploring this tool for use by the CyberSangha community, can support us in implementing its launch, and can offer ongoing support to users and administrators after launch.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Community Manager and Community App Development team.
• Gain an excellent working knowledge of our new Community App and suggest any improvements.
• Oversee and monitor the Community App’s settings.
• Provide ongoing support and training to assigned administrative members/ambassadors, including Space Hosts and ambassadors.
• Provide ongoing support to users.
• Be available for up to five hours per week, and be particularly available and flexible around the time of launch.

Qualifications

• Conversational English is a must.
• Experience with and a good understanding of social media.
• Good at teamwork and internal communications, as well as in working independently.
• Reliable and responsive to others’ needs.
• Experience/knowledge of Mighty Networks is a plus, and/or having an interest in watching training videos and attending Zoom meetings with the Community App development team.

We’re seeking one or more Community Managers to serve as key ambassadors of CyberSangha to our public audience.

Responsibilities

• Help to create, manage, and grow CyberSangha’s presence through interacting with our social networks.
• Work closely with our social media marketing team and communications team, helping to provide direction for all our public communications.
• Provide support to the CyberSangha community, answering questions received via email and social networks and overseeing any online feedback forums.
• Can be available for one to five hours per week.

Qualifications

• English speaker with good writing skills, who is careful to double-check grammar and spelling before posting.
• Considerable experience with social media. Experience managing Facebook Pages or a community app like Mighty Networks is also helpful.
• Outgoing personality, comfortable introducing yourself to strangers.
• Able to multitask.
• Also helpful: experience with notification services and Social Media Management platforms with filter options, using measurement tools to provide reports on metrics and to continually find ways to improve on those metrics; as well as the ability to analyze and interpret the data and use it to improve results.

We’re seeking volunteers interested in preparing platform-specific content for CyberSangha X (Twitter), YouTube, or Instagram, by drawing from full-length recorded CyberSangha broadcasts. For example: short text quotes for Twitter, short videos for Instagram, or archived recordings for YouTube. This is a wonderful, creative way to greatly extend the reach of CyberSangha broadcasts while introducing them to many newcomers. A volunteer should be able to answer “yes” to each of these questions:

• Are you a long-time, committed student of Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche?
• Would you like to help develop a vision for our CyberSangha Twitter, YouTube, or Instagram account?
• Can you commit the time to watch all or nearly all of our live broadcasts?
• Would you like to share the moments of those broadcasts that were touching to you?
• Do you have extensive experience using one of these platforms?
• Have you ever managed a YouTube channel or Twitter or Instagram page for an organization or other specific purpose?
• Do you have experience editing video?
• Do you have experience editing photos?

We’re looking for a volunteer who can answer “yes” to all of these questions:

• Are you a bilingual speaker, having English as your first or second language?
• Do you have at least five years’ experience in dealing with brands, brand manifestos, and brand books?
• Are you familiar with the various social media formats and can you work with them simultaneously?
• Do you have the time to respond to requests that may be from one day to the next?
• Are you a longtime student of Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche and have you been a part of the CyberSangha?

Have you been following the teachings of Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche online or in person? Would you like to give back something of what you have received, while having a major impact in extending the reach of the teachings? We are looking for volunteers to join our new podcast team! Experience is helpful but not necessary, as training can be provided.

We’re seeking volunteers who can assist with one or more of these tasks:

• Advise the team regarding the best podcast platforms
• Choose teachings from the CyberSangha video archives that would make great podcasts
• Recommend any portions to be edited out
• Write brief scripts for podcast intros
• Record yourself voicing the podcast scripts
• Edit the podcasts using a program such as Audacity
• Upload and test out the finished product

We’re looking for a volunteer who can play a key role in coordinating CyberSangha’s social media presence.

Responsibilities

• Member of the Core Team
• Builds and manages a team of content curators and technical support staff
• Ensures content curators are reaching target markets according to marketing plan
• Creates content production flow to efficiently provide material to content curators
• Oversees creation of hashtags, key words to be used by content curators

Qualifications

• A longtime student of Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche who has been a part of the CyberSangha
• BS degree in marketing, new media, or relevant field
• Bilingual, having English as a first or second language
• Proven work experience as a social media coordinator
• Expertise in multiple social media platforms
• In-depth knowledge of SEO, keyword research and Google Analytics
• Ability to work with creative content (text, image, and video)
• Familiar with online marketing strategies and marketing channels
• Ability to grasp future trends in digital technologies and act proactively
• Excellent communication skills
• Multitasking and analytical skills

We’re seeking a Technical Support Advisor with a strong skills, experience, and interests in many areas of computer and online, who can be available to help troubleshoot problems as they arise and to suggest ways to meet current and future needs related but not limited to website maintenance and development, social media, email lists, community apps, podcasts, live audio or video streaming, etc.

This volunteer should have curiosity about all things tech, be interested in finding and sharing answers, have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities and good communications skills.

Volunteers are needed for editing recordings of Facebook Live broadcasts, in preparation for them to be uploaded to the Ligmincha en Español YouTube Channel. No experience needed, training will be provided. Spanish speakers only.

We are looking for a volunteer who can help us coordinate our ongoing search for more volunteers! This person will work closely with CyberSangha team members to determine their needs; screen prospective volunteers regarding their skills, experience and interests; suggest an ideal fit to existing needs; and maintain a file or database of volunteers and their contact information.

CyberSangha is preparing to launch a new podcast program that promises to greatly expand the reach of the recorded teachings of Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche. Through the generous efforts of volunteers, the technical aspects are all in place. All we need now is a capable, devoted volunteer with professional writing experience who can prepare written descriptions of upcoming podcast episodes based on information already compiled at cybersangha.net.
